About Me
Hi, I’m Shannyn Stokes — a grounded and compassionate counselor who values nature, art, family, and the shared human experience. My passion for supporting people struggling with addiction inspired me to pursue my education at Indiana Wesleyan University, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor (CADAAC II) and hold licenses as an Associate Addiction Counselor (LACA) and Associate Mental Health Counselor (LMHCA).
In my work, I meet each client with empathy and respect, using evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Attachment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to guide them through mental health issues and recovery. I’m committed to helping clients grow personally and reach self-actualization by cultivating emotional intelligence and self-awareness. This foundation enables them to better understand and manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
My counseling philosophy centers on empowering clients to take charge of their lives. Together, we work to identify and overcome barriers such as negative self-talk, limiting beliefs, or self-doubt. My goal is to support lasting, meaningful change that leads to greater fulfillment and autonomy.
